2/5/19 - The Genesis Group Career Day
Professionals from a variety of backgrounds and industries visited Frankfort-Schuyler on February 5 to share their experiences and wisdom with middle school students as part of The Genesis Group’s fourth annual Career Day.
The event, organized by Genesis Group Executive Director Ray Durso, Genesis Education Committee co-chair Anthony Nicotera and guidance counselor Mrs. Cordero, gives students the opportunity to hear directly from professionals about the diverse education and career paths that led them to where they are now.
Guest speakers shared knowledge on a wide variety of topics including interviewing, financial planning, self-confidence and learning from failure. Many of the speakers emphasized to the middle school students that they do not need to decide on a career path just yet and shared their own stories of switching college majors, changing careers and ultimately finding jobs that gave them fulfillment and purpose.
Speakers at this year’s Career Day included:
- Connie Castellano and Christy Shepardson - Valley Health Services
- Martina Jory - First Source Federal Credit Union
