In addition to St. Patrick’s Day, the Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District also celebrated Phelan Lucky Day on March 17.

Phelan Lucky Day was celebrated in support of Frankfort-Schuyler student Mattea Schrader, who has been diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that’s caused by the deletion of or a structural change in chromosome 22. It can compromise many critical functions in a person’s body, from learning and communicating to eating and sleeping.

On Phelan Lucky Day, Superintendent Palmer and Mattea’s teachers – Mrs. Tangorra, Mrs. Carnright and Mrs. Randazzo – all joined Mattea in rocking their Phelan Lucky shirts.
